In order to lose weight your body only needs to burn more calories than it takes in. This is accomplished by either reducing the caloric intake as with a diet program, or by increasing the amount of calories burned. If you start a daily routine that lasts for at least 30 minutes where your heart rate is increased for a period of 20 minutes, you will effectively start burning more calories.

To help flush out the fats you are burning it is a good idea to drink lots of water. The water will help your body get rid of the extra stuff it does not need so you will lose weight quicker. In addition, if you reduce the amount of sodium or salt that you use, the water will work even better to flush out your system. The advantage that exercising has over dieting is that it allows you to target specific areas of your body. If you have a pair of favorite jeans that have gotten too tight around the waist, you can do exercises that help reduce your mid section.

While there are definitely a lot of fad diets that are geared to help you lose weight fast; some even claim that they can help you on  how to lose weight in a week, if you want the weight lose to work you are better off with a traditional long term diet plan. If you do not want the headache of counting calories and planning meals then you would be better off implementing a regular exercise routine into your daily life. Exercise will not only help you get into your jeans, but will also strengthen your heart and increase your circulation so you will also feel better.
